Outage: Calling issues - 9 May 2023

Notice:

We are working with our network partner to fix an issue that occurred overnight that may cause issues in making and receiving calls.

Triple Zero and mobile data aren't affected

When attempting to make a call, some customers may also hear that they are unable to make a call due to “insufficient funds” or “number is not connected”.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and will update this post with more information as it becomes available.

Update 1

8:30am: Our network partner has advised that this issue has been localised to NSW/QLD and call levels are returning to normal.

Update 2

10:00am: Our network partner has advised that an issue affecting some calls has been partially resolved although calls to landlines will need the area code included for the interim.

If issues persist we recommend switching airplane mode on and off, or try making a data call using WiFi Calling or other apps such as Face Time.

Update 3

1:30pm: Our network partner reports mobile-to-mobile calls are now normal, but landline issues may persist into the evening.

To address this, include area codes (e.g., 02, 03, 07) when dialling landlines. Without them, calls may fail.

Update 4

5:30pm: Our network partner reports that all functionality is restored and the issue is fully resolved.
