When activating with a starter pack, you can use your voucher code during the eSIM setup process. Your physical SIM from the starter pack won't be activated.
When moving to an eSIM, your entire service transfers - number, plan and credit. Only do this if necessary, as your physical SIM will permanently stop working.
Your service can only exist on one SIM at a time. You cannot split a service between physical SIM and eSIM or use both simultaneously for the same number.

When you place a new activation order and select eSIM or if you need to call us for a SIM swap, you'll be sent a confirmation email that contains your eSIM profile.

For Family Plan users, remember that your service won't work for calls, messages or data until you accept the Family Plan invitation or add a plan or credit. If no action is taken within 10 days, the service will expire.

Also consider that it is not recommended to swap to an eSIM unless you have specific need for one as eSIMs will require a SIM swap every time you change or upgrade phones going forward as they are bonded to each particular device.
That being said, most newer iPhones, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones since ~2020 support eSIM, but older models may not. If your phone isn't compatible, you'll need a physical SIM card instead.
The easiest way to check is to dial *#06# on your phone. If you see an "EID" number, your phone likely supports eSIM. It's important to note that this check isn't always definitive though. Some phones (particularly those with specialist regional software) may show an EID but still have limited eSIM functionality in Australia.

Once eSIM is supported you will have the ability to select the SIM type, when activating a new service.
Many newer phones support dual SIM functionality, allowing you to select between different SIMs, and some will also support multiple physical, eSIM or a combination of both a physical SIM and an eSIM at the same time.
This is useful if you want to use different numbers on one device, perhaps one for personal use and one for work, or a local number when travelling.
Note that this depends on your specific ALDI Mobile service or a plan from another provider, and you will need one SIM per service, as a single service cannot be replicated onto both the physical and eSIM at the same time.

If you get a new compatible phone, you'll need a new eSIM. Contact our customer service team on 1300 989 000 to request a new eSIM for your new device. We'll send you a new QR code to scan on your new phone. Your phone number and plan remain the same.

If you remove your eSIM from your phone by mistake please contact our Customer Service team to request a replacement QR code. We'll email you a new one so you can set up your service again.

eSIMs work with all ALDI Mobile plans, including our Family Plans. If you're the Owner of a Family Plan, when you activate your service you can select eSIM for your own service, and for your Users you can choose an eSIM or physical SIM depending on their device compatibility and preference, and distribute these QR codes accordingly.
