What's happening?

In conjunction with our network carrier, Telstra, we're upgrading the voicemail platform on 1st October 2020. If you currently use voicemail, please read on as there are some actions you'll need to take before and after the upgrade.

Why is this happening?

The current voicemail platform is reaching capacity and we're upgrading so that we can continue to offer the reliability and stability you've enjoyed to date.

What are the benefits of the new Voicemail?

Here's a comparison of our current voicemail and the new service:

Will I be notified of the change?

We're emailing all customers to advise of the upgrade.

If you've used your voicemail in the 6 months leading up to the upgrade, Telstra will SMS you the day before and day after the upgrade.

How do I access the new voicemail?

Just like you do now, call 101 from your ALDImobile. When you first call, you'll be asked to supply a new PIN and record a greeting.

Can my current greeting be transferred over?

No, you'll need to record a new one after the migration.

Will my saved messages be transferred over?

No, due to encryption settings on voicemail, we can't transfer them across.

How do I access and record my old greeting and saved messages?

You can access your old greeting and saved messages for 8 weeks following the upgrade by calling 0418707105. Here's how to record them:

  • Open a voice recorder application on another device like a phone, laptop or tablet.
  • Call 0418707105 from your ALDImobile and put it on speaker
  • Press record on the other device
  • Follow the prompts to access the saved greeting or messages
  • Hold your ALDImobile close to the microphone of the other device
  • Once the message has played, stop recording on the other device and end your call
  • Save the message on the other device

What happens if I don't access and record my old greeting/messages within the 8 weeks after the upgrade?

You'll be unable to retrieve the messages as the old voicemail platform will be taken out of service.

What do I need to do now?

If you want to keep existing saved messages or your greeting, you should record them now on an external device.
